You Should not Babysit your Downline.

3 Reasons Why You Should not Babysit your Downline

When it comes to MLM Network Marketing building your group is one of the most vital components to your business. Your downline is basically the people that are actively working the business, usually as distributors. In the beginning it is very important to be there for your people, as they will have questions and problems that you can help them solve. However, after a certain point you have to cut the apron strings and allow the people in your downline to work on their own. Here are three reasons that you should not babysit your downline if you want your MLM business to grow effectively: (posted by Nate Leung)

1. Babysitting your downline wastes your time

In the beginning it is crucial that you are there to mentor and train all of your distributors. However, you can quickly fall into the trap of answering every question they have and doing things for them that they could do for themselves. You are obviously responsible for properly training your team, but once they have a good understanding of the company or products then it is time to let them grow on their own. If you are spending all of your time assisting your downline then you won’t have time for the more important aspects of your business. If you have a distributor that is taking an inordinate amount of your time, then you need to have a discussion with them or even consider letting them go. Remember, time is money, particularly when you work from home.

2. They will not grow into leaders

At some point you have to let the birds out of the nest if they are going to fly. Ultimately you would like your distributors to grow into leaders that are recruiting other people and growing your business. If you are constantly holding their hand along the way or doing things that they could do for themselves, then you are simply stunting their growth and the growth of your business. Once you have given them the tools and training to succeed then it is time for your distributors to become leaders.

3. Your business will not grow if you babysit your downline

One of the most important parts of an MLM business is growing it through recruitment. If you are spending too much time dealing with every question your distributors have then you will not be out there recruiting new members. You might find that your business is suddenly stuck in the mud and that your growth is not what it should be. A big reason that MLMs grow stagnate is that the leader is not spending their time effectively. If you want your business to grow then you need to use your time efficiently.

These are just three reasons that you should not waste too much time babysitting your downline. If you find that you are spending too much time dealing with prospects (distributors) then it is probably time to reassess your training methods or even consider getting new distributors. The only way to effectively grow your MLM business is by having a downline that is capable and willing to take leadership roles.

My Lead Generation System vs. free safelists and traffic exchange.

A funnel is a way to introduce people to your product or service.

It’s called a funnel because the goal is to attract the most-people possible at the TOP…

So you can have the best chance possible at making sales throughout the funnel.

In the marketing world, these people are called leads.

The more leads you get in your f u n n e l, the more sales you make.

For example, let’s say you have a funnel that attracts 100 leads every day.

And on average, you make 1 sale for every 100 leads.

This means you’re getting 1 sale a day, right?

But here’s where the magic happens.

And where life-changing fortunes are made.

If you get 200 leads into your funnel, you’re making 2 sales a day.

And if you’re able to get 1,000 leads into your funnel…

Average network marketer can only bring in 2.7 people.

MLM Success is contingent upon many factors, not the least of which is the ability to build a large and successful downline.

Most MLM practitioners are unable to recruit enough people to sustain their business long enough for it to succeed. The industry average is something like 2.7, meaning that the average person can recruit 2.7 people.

Sure, there are gifted men and women who seem to be able to recruit at will but they are the exception, not the rule. So, if a large and thriving downline is critical to Network Marketing success and the average network marketer can only bring in 2.7 people, how can anyone succeed in this industry?

The answer lies in a very simple concept, “The Power of Two.”

Simply put, recruit two people and help each of those recruit two people. Then teach the first two to help their people recruit two and so forth. This strategy sets the average MLM distributor up for success instead of failure. There are some very good reasons for this. First, you have simplified the whole recruiting process. All they have to do is recruit two. Second, it creates the momentum necessary to achieve sustained growth. And as the team grows, your support system grows along with it because now everyone is helping everyone below them to get their two. Building with The Power of Two enables your team to work together to grow a solid downline that will make the business profitable for everyone.

The numbers are truly staggering! They may seem small at first but watch what happens as The Power of Two takes over and the business begins to grow.

If you start with one person recruiting two people in their first month and each person thereafter recruits just two in their first month and if everyone on the team follows through with the plan, in four months there will be 63 people on the team. In Six months it will grow to 127, in eight months it will be 511 and in one year, with everyone only expected to recruit two and help their two recruit two, your organization would grow to 8,191 distributors. Now, in any MLM compensation plan I know of, that translates to success and a boat load of cash! And it was accomplished in just one year.
